About the opportunity

Blacktown City is a dynamic local government area that is presently undergoing major growth. We pride ourselves on quality customer service, managing relationships, attention to detail and practical application of development and building legislation. We are looking for 2 experienced Building Surveyors to thrive in this unique role and coordinate the building certification, inspection and development assessment functions of our building teams. You will also lead, mentor and refine current business processes in this role, as well as exploring new opportunities for the section.


Qualifications and experience Essential:

  • Tertiary Australian qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent
  • Solid working experience as a Building Surveyor
  • Current class C driver's licence or equivalent
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the provisions of the Building Code of Australia
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the provisions of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 as they relate to development
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills with associated conflict resolution capabilities
  • Ability to work in a team environment.


Remuneration and benefits The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

A competitive salary range will be offered based on skills, qualifications and experience
