About the Role
As a critical member of the Strategic Planning team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality urban design advice with a focus on design innovation and excellence and high-quality customer service.
Duties
- Lead a culture of excellence and design innovation.
- Develop urban design plans and guidelines including, built form, public open spaces, and activity centres.
- Provide specialist and technical advice in relation to best practice contemporary and innovative urban design principles
- Provide clear and direct advice relating to planning permit applications, planning scheme amendments and development of masterplans, structure plans and guidelines.
- Advocate for projects within the community, Council and other government organisations.
- Engage, negotiate successful outcomes and communicate effectively with the community and stakeholders in a collaborative manner.
Skills and experience
- Tertiary qualification in Urban Design or Landscape Architecture
- Background in working on urban design projects in the public sector or with a design consultancy
- Extensive experience in a range of specialist design based computer programs and project management tools
