Asset Management Analyst

CBCity, NSW’s largest Council, currently has an exciting opportunity within our growing Operations department for an experienced Asset Management Analyst.


Reporting to the Coordinator Asset Management, you will be responsible for assisting with the development and management of asset management strategies and systems.


Some of your duties in this role will include:

  • Provide detailed and specialist knowledge on local Government assets, their deployment and systems for the holistic management over their full life cycle
  • Work with asset owners to populate the asset register within the appropriate system
  • Work with asset owners to develop asset management plans for all asset classes
  • Work with asset owners to develop and have in place consistent mechanisms for forward planning and budgeting of asset classes that are consistent with the financial system for up to 10 years
  • Work with the Coordinator Financial Management to prepare annual financial reports and develop the asset portfolio Long Term Financial Plan
  • Assist with workflow redesign and operational reviews across the organisation to incorporate asset management within Council's structure

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Well-developed understanding of asset management programs in Councils
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong and effective communication and facilitation skills
  • Well-developed analytical and investigative skills
  • Demonstrated experience with coaching and educating staff to ensure understanding, participation and ownership
  • Have a flexible, innovative, multi-disciplinary approach to work
  • Good attention to detail
  • High level computer literacy for accessing information, calculating costs and outputs, preparing reports, and communicating with others (i.e. Word, Excel, Access and Power BI)
  • Advanced knowledge of asset management and Geographical Information Systems
  • Advanced knowledge of asset portfolio financial modelling applications such as MyPredictor
