The Council's Service Centre Delivery Directorate provides a range of services which include Waste Management, Parks & Cemetery Maintenance, Civil and Municipal Works, Power Water Essential Services, Australia Post, Centrelink and Council Administration Services.


The Essential Service Officer is responsible for maintaining and servicing Power, Water and Sewerage infrastructure and preparing reports in accordance with PowerWater Essential Services agreement.


The position is also responsible for maintaining aircraft landing areas, attending to medical evacuations when required, attending to emergency and after hours call outs.


The successful applicant must posses a white card, driver's licence and some mechanical aptitude. A trade qualification is preferable but not a requirement. Training will be provided on the job.


In addition to a strong interest in working with Indigenous people on their country, it is also essential that you have an appreciation of contemporary Aboriginal issues, especially in relation to cultural and socio-economic challenges in remote central Australia. Any prior experience working with Aboriginal people in remote areas will be highly regarded.
