MANAGER RECREATION & EVENTS

(Cash Component between $120,000 - $140,000)

The Shire of East Pilbara is a cohesive community providing an economic hub for the region linked by vibrant local centres and shared spaces – a place to live and call home.
The Shire currently seek an experienced and people focused Manager Recreation and Events.
This is a unique opportunity, geared toward a proactive, self driven person with a passion to lead by example in providing high standard services and programs within recreation and aquatic facilities, club development and events in the largest Shire in Australia. This role also requires the successful applicant to create and implement a Recreation Master Plan for the Shire – an excellent opportunity to showcase your vision.
The ideal candidate will have experience in or show promise to work at a strategic level within the organisation. They will have a working history within Recreation & Events. They will have excellent leadership, management and mentoring skills as well as excellent customer service skills. This role offers variety in that at times it is a hands on role with a keen interest in facilities management as well as being managerial. A willingness to engage with the community and multiple facilities is a must as the Manager Recreation & Events will also be required to travel within the region and work weekends as part of this diverse role.
The facilities managed under this portfolio include one Class 1 and one Class 2 Aquatic Facilities, a Recreation Centre and two rural fitness centers. Our events include a diverse range of community, cultural and sporting events and festivals, supported by a number of funding partnerships.
We offer this position of up to five (5) years with an attractive remuneration package of up to $164,240 per annum, subsidised housing and utilities, a highly competitive superannuation scheme, excellent leave provisions and private use of a vehicle within Western Australia.
