There has never been a better time to join Central Coast Council's Marketing and Tourism Team, as we roll out a number of exciting and high profile strategic initiatives to embed Councils brand in the community, capture Tourism opportunities, enhance our Visitor Experience in the local area, and deliver upon Regional Destination objectives. 


Reporting to the Section Manager Marketing and Tourism, the Team Leader will support a growing team of marketing and tourism professionals in bringing to life Council's Strategic Marketing and Tourism Plans through effective implementation of a range of campaigns and business development activities. 


Our ideal candidate will be an accomplished team leader, coach and mentor, who brings strong experience in developing and operationalising marketing strategies in a large and complex environment with a high public profile. In addition, strong project management and organisation skills, the ability to build relationships and work effectively with a diverse cross section of stakeholders, and a positive and team oriented approach is essential for success in this role. Experience in local government would be highly valued. 


What might a day in this role include...

  • Oversee the effective implementation of a range of high profile Marketing and Tourism initiatives through your team, providing on going advice and support to continually improve business outcomes;
  • Leverage your leadership experience to foster a great team culture, coaching & mentoring your team, and ensuring they are set up for success and fully engaged in our strategic direction; 
  • Work across all levels of Council, as well as a diverse range of external clients and suppliers, to establish strong working partnerships, leveraging those relationships to ensure strategic objectives are realised;
  • Provide detailed reporting to senior management and Council executives on the status of major strategic initiatives;
  • Use your creativity and strategic thinking capacity to drive best practice, and ensure a contemporary and digitally savvy approach spans all of our strategic initiatives.

This role provides a salary range of between $87.2k to $104.6k per annum + superannuation.


A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role. This arrangement may be subject to change.
