The Invercargill City Council Finance team is responsible for providing accounting and financial services to the various operations within Council. We currently have a 12 month fixed-term vacancy available for an experienced person to join the team as one of our Finance Support Officers.


In this role you will be responsible for the many aspects of financial administration including organising, collating and processing transactions in financial systems - this will primarily be Debtors, Water Billing, Rating, as well as Creditors as required.


You will have a proven track record in Finance Administration - this goes without saying! But much more than this, you will have an excellent eye for detail and be experienced in organising your day to meet important deadlines. Your excellent communications skills will also be put to good use providing support to other members of your team with a willingness to show initiative. Knowledge of Local Government would be an advantage, and experience in accounting systems is a must.
