Senior Project Manager



Our client based in Ballarat is undergoing a transformation. Due to this they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Business Services team. Reporting to the Manager of ICT you will be responsible for shaping and delivering a business‐led change program of work focused on eliminating paper, reducing administration and improving the customer experience.


These projects will involve business process change, organisational change, and ICT change, in a complex environment. We are looking for a collaborative Senior Project Manager who can support the business areas to achieve the project outcomes, and bridge the business and ICT areas to implement any business process and ICT change.


Your objectives will be as follows:

  • Deliver organisational change projects with technology components to agreed scope, quality and time.
  • Produce, seek approval, and then manage projects to Project Management Plans.
  • Write to business cases.
  • Effectively identify, and mitigate risks
  • Engage, lead and motivate a team of matrix reports to achieve the deliverables of the project.
  • Manage the project budget and report on progress, following internal procurement and other organisational policies.
  • Engage and manage third‐party vendors, including contribution to the preparation of tender documentation, works specification, contract design & review, ongoing management of progress, relationship management and transition to business as usual.
  • Ensure that projects are effectively transitioned to business as usual in the business units, and delivers to IS Service Delivery using ITIL best practice
  • Contribute to policy development.

To apply for this opportunity you will need the following:

  • Experience in projects that deliver organisational change using best practice organisational change methods such as PROCI.
  • Experienced in the use of PRINCE 2 or PMBOK (PMI), MSP, Agile methods, or other methodologies.
  • Experience in the transition to support and business as usual, including ITIL best practice.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and vendor management with the ability to manage expectations in the complex political context in which the organisation operates.
  • Knowledge, familiarity and compliance with principles and practices of budgeting and accounting/ financial and procurement procedures.
  • Preference for experience in the Microsoft Office 365 toolset including SharePoint, Project, Teams, Flow, PowerBI, PowerApps.
  • Demonstrated experience as a project or program manager delivering successful organisational change or business transformation projects that involve information technology.
  • A sound understanding, and demonstrated a practical application, of project management methods and best practice in a transformation environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor adherence to health and safety policies and procedures within a team environment.
