Executive Officer of Governance and Special Projects
Council is seeking applications to fill the fixed term contract for Executive Officer of Governance & Special Projects. Applications will be received until Friday 1 November 2019. Late applications may not be considered.
The Position
The primary object of this role is to undertake a range of administrative and analysis activities to support the formulation of policy
advice and recommendations, and contribute to the development of policies that support Council’s strategic and operational needs.
The incumbent is required to identify and address gaps in governance and statutory compliance under relevant legislation, and advise staff of any changes in legislations that will impact Council. Further, the role works closely with the Executive Management team on the development and implementation of strategic initiatives including the development of concept briefs for major projects.
To be successful within this role you will require:
- Demonstrated understanding of current corporate governance practices including business paper management systems and meeting procedures.
- Demonstrated high level problem solving skills with the ability to set priorities, manage multiple deadlines and effectively deliver tasks and processes on time.
- Demonstrated high level written communication skills, including but not limited to report, policy & concept brief writing.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and reviewing policies, plans and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in Project Management.
- Demonstrated Local Government experience or knowledge of Local Government operations.
- Demonstrated commitment to & experience in the provision of high-quality customer service.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Business, Administration or related field.
