Home Maintenance Officer
Do you have proven property maintenance skills and experience and/or a trade background? Are you interested in providing quality services to support older people to remain living independently at home and in the community? Whitehorse Home and Community Services provides a range of in-home services to more than 4000 eligible older people and their carers each year to support them to remain active and living well.
Council is currently recruiting a full-time Home Maintenance Officer to provide basic home maintenance, minor household repairs and home modifications to ensure a safe living environment for eligible residents. The successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Ensure works are completed in line with program requirements, standards and occupational health and safety policies and procedures
- Identify the scope, costing and purchasing requirements for individual jobs
- Undertake minor household maintenance tasks including repairs and fitting of aids, equipment and modifications
- Liaise with external contractors
- Complete program administration and reporting functions
- Utilise computer and mobile technology in the field
