Business Analyst

Join us at the Invercargill City Council as our new Business Analyst and use your knowledge and skills to help improve Council and the city!
Reporting to the Manager - Information Systems you will work with Council staff, managers and external stakeholders to analyse Council's business services, processes and information needs. You will be an important part of our organisation, ensuring overall effectiveness and efficiency are achieved.
Your technical skills, excellent understanding of IT systems and ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders and staff will allow you to be able to train and provide support effectively.
The essentials for the role are:
- At least 3 years' experience in a related business analyst/improvement and/or project management role
- Knowledge of and practical experience working with business performance and reporting systems
- Proven experience with process modelling and facilitating workshops
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel
- Technical and analytical background
A tertiary qualification in a related business analysis or improvement field is essential, but if you also have a qualification in Project Management, ITIL Foundations or as a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), that will make you stand out above the rest. Knowledge of Local Government would also be a bonus.
