About Us

The Opportunity

The Coordinator Communications is one of four Coordinators within the community Partnerships section who are working together to respond to the changing needs of the community and how Council and the community can build relationships and capacity.  This is a specialist role to manage the team delivering effective, relevant and technology centered communication to our community and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you should hold tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Communications, or related field; possess excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and a consultative approach to the workplace and community. With strong professional writing and editing skills, including writing for multiple audiences in various formats you should be a confident and experienced advisor in issues management.  Experience running a team in high demand with constant deadlines and multiple customers will be an advantage.

Key accountabilities

  • Work with the Manager Community Partnerships to proactively manage the organisations reputation, identify issues and provide considered advice to the Leadership Team.
  • Lead the Communications Team to provide an effective service to internal customers to generate proactive content distributed through a range of channels including digital, media and marketing
  • Develop and implement systems to manage workflow, internal requests and appropriate resourcing to ensure successful and timely delivery of communications services
