Perenjori is a town whose community is renowned for embracing opportunity and diversifying in its changing landscape. With many exciting economic prospects within the Shire, Perenjori is a town on the move, with excellent financial stability.


The Commissioner is seeking a Chief Executive Officer with an Economic Development passion to fully utilise the opportunities offered by the Shire to residents, businesses and visitors alike. Excellent communication, leadership and relationship building skills are required to bring the incoming Council and administration together to meet the strategic vision of the community. These skills will also aid the new CEO in attracting new stakeholders to the area. 


The town and Shire is renowned for its rich history. As such, the CEO will drive the delivery of services to enhance, promote and protect the shire’s heritage as well as its historical and rural characteristics.


In addition, an understanding of the political, economic and social challenges facing local government is essential.


The position is offered under a performance based contract of three to five years. An attractive remuneration package is offered and is to be set in accordance with the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal Band 4, negotiable up to $198,210 per annum. Salary and benefits are subject to negotiation and could include, but are not limited to; base salary, extended superannuation, private use of a motor vehicle and membership fees. Housing rental subsidy, utilities and professional development allowances are also provided.  Reasonable relocation expenses are available (Conditions apply).
