The Communications Officer uses a variety of communication channels and methods to effectively communicate agreed messages to both internal and external stakeholder audiences. The position assists in building a positive perception of Council across a broad range of activities, and works closely with the Communications Manager and internal & external stakeholders in delivering targeted, engaging and effective media, marketing and communication activities. To be successful in this role you will have an absolute passion to make a difference, and enjoy a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where your skills are constantly challenged. You will possess relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role, with experience in the development and implementation of communication plans. You will have strong writing skills, be digitally savvy, and up to date with the latest communication trends, channels and methods. Being an absolute team player is a must, as are high-level customer service and interpersonal skills. A Class C drivers licence is essential. Desirable requirements include experience in/understanding of a government organisation and a membership to a relevant professional body.
This is a full time, permanent role, with remuneration in the range of $75,982 -$85,519 per annum (depending on skills and experience), plus 9.5% superannuation. The role is 35 hours per week, with access to Council’s Flexible Working Hours policy.
