About the role:
There is an opportunity for two Town Planners or Senior Town Planners within The Hills Shire Council's Development and Compliance Group
Duties include:
- The assessment of a broad range of Development Applications and assisting with pre-lodgement meetings
- You will also prepare assessment reports for determination under delegated authority or by Council's Development Assessment Unit, the Local Planning or Regional Planning Panel in accordance with legislative requirements
- Attending to customer enquiries, assisting the Team Co-ordinator with the day to day running of the team and mentoring staff* [*Senior Planner]
About you:
To be considered for this role you will be a qualified Town Planner and will possess:
- Degree in Town Planning/Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or related disciple
- [Senior] Two years or more experience in Town Planning and dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of town planning principals
- Sound knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and other related legislation
- [Senior] Two years or more demonstrated knowledge of Environmental Planning & Assessment Act, Local Government Town Planning and other related legislation
- [Senior] Proficient report writing and documentation skills
- Competent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines, work with a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to achieve accurate and precise work with minimal supervision
- Current Class C Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence

- Salary, Town Planner: From $75K + Super + Other Benefits
- Salary, Senior: From $90K + Super + Car Allowance OR Leaseback Vehicle + Other Benefits
