ABOUT THE ROLE

Isaac Regional Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Director Water & Waste who will strategically lead and manage the Water & Waste Directorate of Council.  The Director Water and Waste position is accountable for ensuring regulatory and legislative requirements are consistently met as well as developing an appropriate strategic direction for the functions encompassed in the Directorate. These plans are developed in consultation with achieving the outcomes contained in Council’s Community and Corporate plans. This role is pivotal in the Directorate transition to a commercialised water & waste business unit.

ABOUT YOU

• Tertiary in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline highly desirable;
• Post graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline (including business management) would be viewed favourably;
• Significant experience in the Australian Water Industry and or Waste management a senior level as well as an aptitude to build and develop best practice in water and wastewater operations;
• Senior management experience of a multi-disciplinary team in a complex corporate environment;
• Local Government experience at a senior management level is desirable;
• Experience in the preparation of business plans and budgets in a commercialised government environment.
