If this sounds like you then we have an exciting opportunity for you within our organisation to support the Executive Manager and lead a team of individuals delivering a high level of service to the General Manager and Mayor of NSW’s largest council, Canterbury Bankstown Council, ensuring that they receive exceptional support every day of the week.
The Role
The Team Leader Executive Services leads the Executive Services unit which is responsible for providing efficient corporate and administrative support to the Mayor, Councillors and General Manager and fostering a high performing operating environment ensuring our community is always at the forefront of our minds.
This role will also provide support to the Executive Leadership team from time to time, and you will also work closely with the Executive Leadership Team’s Executive Assistants, ensuring collaboration and cohesion across all units.
Some of your duties will include
- Lead and direct a team of executive and administration assistants
- Develop, implement and maintain administration and office management systems and processes to achieve excellence in customer service
- Provide executive level support to the Mayor
- Identify and implement system and operational improvements to continuously improve service delivery
- Prepare documents and communication pieces, including briefing notes, draft responses and reports
- Liaise and foster positive relationships with Directors, their executive assistants, other staff and Councillors as required to facilitate Unit outcomes
- Investigate and research issues as required
- Manage and execute on civic events and citizenship ceremonies as required
- Provide accurate information and reports on unit functions, in a timely manner
- Maintain a professional approach, while exercising discretion, confidentiality and a high degree of political acumen

You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business administration or similar
- Class C driver’s licence
- Extensive experience in managing a high-pressure office environment
- Demonstrated experience leading others
- Demonstrated experience in the administration and improvement of administrative processes
- Extensive experience operating in a political environment
- Experience in an Executive office environment; State, Local or private
- Demonstrated experience in various software applications including Microsoft Office, SharePoint
