The Canterbury Bankstown City Design Unit is expanding to deliver key public domain and open space projects within a dynamic and growing city. An opportunity currently exists for a motivated and results-driven individual to join our City Transformation Team as a Landscape Architect. This opportunity will be offered either on a full time or a permanent part time basis (21 hours per week).
The Role:
The Landscape Architect will project manage the design and development of key landscape masterplans, open space, playground, natural area, shade structure/ building and amenity projects. They will ensure the projects are completed on time and to budget whilst protecting the integrity of the design and ensuring full compliance with regulations.
This opportunity will be offered on a permanent part time basis (21 hours a week).
Your duties in this role will include:
- Develop detailed concept designs for key parkland and urban spaces;
- Manage special projects, including street activation and public art commission, arising from the Liveable Centres Program;
- Prepare detailed designs and cost estimates;
- Participate in community consultation processes;
- Develop and document landscape masterplans;
- Provide a technical advisory service within own and to other Departments of Council on environmental and landscape matters;
- Prepare presentation briefings, correspondence and write reports and issues papers as required;
- Undertake other projects and/or tasks, as required, to achieve the works program.

You will have:
- Qualifications in Landscape Architecture;
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in Landscape Architecture;
- Experience or demonstrated skills in all stages of open space planning, urban renewal and environmental improvement projects;
- High-level skills and experience in design and documentation on relevant design platforms;
- Demonstrated high quality written, graphic and verbal communication skills;
- Experience in all aspects of project management;
- Experience in working within multi-discipline teams;
- Eligibility for registration with AILA;
- White Card.
