Pound Attendant



Permanent Part Time and Casual Positions available


This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated and passionate team who are committed to achieving positive results by reuniting pets back with their owners.


The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day to day care for pound animals and excellent customer service to members of the public.


This diverse and interesting role will challenge and reward you by providing you with the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Provide an effective animal pound, with an emphasis on reuniting and rehousing companion animals;
  • General care, husbandry and handling of domestic animals.
  • Monitor and report animal health.
  • Assist with animal admissions and reclaims.
  • Assist Veterinarians & Community Safety Officers as required.
  • Assist members of the public with inquiries.
  • Complete related documentation and maintain internal database.
  • Upkeep and clean the facilities.


To be successful for this role, you will require:

  • Certificate IV Companion Animal Services or equivalent qualification combined with relevant experience.
  • Experience and confidence in handling and caring for domestic animals, including dangerous, feral and restricted breeds.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bright and positive personality, and demonstrates enthusiasm and motivation towards tasks.
  • Applicants will be required to work public holidays.


This is a permanent part time role for 20 hours, Monday to Friday including public holidays. Casual positions are also available.
