The role is responsible for the development of the City's Inclusion (Disability) Action Plans, overseeing the implementation of the plan and collating and preparing progress reports and evaluation reports. At the City of Sydney, disability inclusion and access is a whole of organisation responsibility, and our aim is to embed disability inclusion and access considerations as core considerations in everything we do.
This position plays a key role as a source of advice to other parts of council in ensuring our projcets, programs and services are inclusive and accessible.
The applicant will have qualifications in a relevant discipline or extensive work experience in the social or community services field. Research and analysis skills as well as the ability to prepare plans, reports and submissions on complex social policy issues are also required. Understanding of access and inclusion for people with a disability is desirable.
