About us:

The Place and Projects team deliver programs and partnerships to create Vibrant Centres and projects that improve our community’s wellbeing. The ‘Love Ingleburn’ project has been our most recent high profile place project.


About the role:

We are currently seeking a Senior Place and Project Officer. The successful applicant will have a key role in delivering and fostering ‘Place’ projects across the LGA. It is a key role within the Place and Projects team. This will be a great opportunity for a well-organised team player who is comfortable and competent when engaging and working with the community, as they are with their colleagues across the organisation.


The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social and/or behavioural sciences, public policy or similar areas
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using online tools, web based programs and social media as a tool to promote community initiatives and manage funding programs
  • Time management skills and ability to organise work effectively to deliver timely and quality outcomes
  • Sound understanding of and commitment to, contemporary community development in a place based context
  • Experience in planning, developing and implementing community projects
  • Demonstrated experience in place based processes and approaches
  • Demonstrated experience in working across internal and external departments and units to create project groups or partnerships
  • Experience of preparing reports, presentations and other media for senior management, team members and external organisations
  • High levels of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing communications in a politically sensitive environment
  • Clear understanding of the intersection and alignment between social, cultural, environmental and issues and their impact at a local level
