ABOUT THE ROLE

Moreland City Council is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Bicycle Projects Engineer who enjoys contact with the community and working with a dynamic team to grow our bicycle network. 


Key aspects of this role include the managing consultants, contractors and designers to deliver new cycling infrastructure. 

The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in:

  • Experience at facilitating development of improved bicycle facilities and routes through implementation of plans, mechanisms, negotiation and design advice.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Government transport policy and Local Government administrative procedures including an understanding of relevant guidelines, standards, regulations and Acts relating to traffic and transport.
  • Relevant experience in a civil construction environment, particularly in the design, setting out and construction of urban road construction.
  • A demonstrated commitment to building better bicycle networks.
  • Well-developed verbal reasoning, and written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prepare complex reports in a concise and accurate manner.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE  

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline, with relevant engineering experience, preferably within traffic and transport.
  • Experience in transport and bicycle planning, having experience in contributing to the improvement of bicycle facilities and the development of integrated strategies for a balance of transport modes and transport choices through the implementation of plans, mechanisms, negotiation and design advice.
  • Relevant experience in a civil construction environment, particularly in the design, setting out and construction of urban road construction.
  • Previous experience working in a Local Government environment.
  • Experience with computer aided design and drafting with GIS and AutoCAD (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
