Salary and Conditions

About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join Council’s Tourism and Business Investment Section. The successful applicant will contribute to the section through the development, implementation and management of Tourism, Business Investment, Marketing and innovation projects for Council. They will also assist in building contacts, networks and partnerships which assist in Tourism, Business and economic growth.


Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Tourism, Marketing or a Business related field and a minimum of four (4) years’ work experience or substantial relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated high-level stakeholder management and negotiation skills including experience liaising with government, businesses, community groups and residents.
  • Demonstrated high-level initiative, interpersonal, decision-making, time management and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Demonstrated high-level computer skills experience with Microsoft Office and Electronic Document and Records Managements Systems (EDRMS).
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment or to work independently when required.
  • Ability to work after hours, late nights, weekends, public holidays and working in isolation when required.
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience in on-line tourism and marketing initiatives such as social media, website content management systems (CMS) and interactive technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work within a ‘political environment’.
  • Formal project management training and / or qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2 / Agile / PYMBOK) or willingness to undertake or enrol in and complete an approved course or qualification and complete within an agreed timeframe.
