About the Role

As Council’s Future Innovation Officer you will work with various stakeholders across a number of projects to develop, implement and guide the Wollondilly Shire through its journey to becoming a leading future community in the use of Smart Technology. You will be responsible for developing and managing programs, projects and activities as part of the Western Sydney City Deal (WSCD) and other Commonwealth, State and/or Local Government programs.


Salary and Conditions

  • Permanent Full-Time Position
  • Salary Range $96,708 - $112,391 per annum, based on skills and experience of the successful applicant
  • 9.5% superannuation
  • 35 Hour Week, with Flex Time system
  • A leaseback vehicle is available with this position however; this is not a condition of employment

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • A university undergraduate degree in a relevant field together with substantial relevant work experience in a complex and emerging industry and current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrated high-level program and project management skills and experience (e.g. PRINCE2 / Agile / PYMBOK etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in innovation and future / smart cities programs, information technology, projects and activities that deliver customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrated high-level communication, stakeholder / relationship management, and negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly skilled in building inclusion, teamwork, collaboration, knowledge transfer / training and positive working relationships, particularly in how to translate “blue-sky” thinking to on-the-ground delivery.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and advocacy skills, resilience and adaptability to leverage outcomes and collaborative impact in a timely manner.
  • Understanding of Smart / Future Cities Concepts and / or Smart / Future City experience in relation to relevant urban design, information and communications technology / digital and / or smart – future infrastructure domains.
  • The ability and commitment to Council’s Vision to build a resilient, safe and supported workplace that provides respectful, efficient and effective services for our community now and into the future.
  • The ability and commitment to display Council’s Corporate Values of Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Embrace Innovation.

Desirable

  • Relevant experience, especially relating to smart city, innovation, service transformation, regulatory reform and organisational improvement.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within the innovation, smart / future city and technology industry.
