Operations Coordinator, Aged Care - Tara and Miles, Queensland

About the Role

This newly created role is a unique opportunity to use your strong leadership and operational management expertise to drive high quality aged care services and performance to ensure commercial outcomes are met including upholding both facilities reputations as one of choice locally.

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, you will:

  • Manage and oversee the day to day operational requirements of the Western Downs Regional Council Aged Care facilities;
  • Lead and foster team excellence through the implementation of best practice culture and change management principles and practices to engage and empower an inclusive and diverse workforce;
  • Lead and manage both operational and administration staff for both facilities including recruitment, performance management and disciplinary matters;
  • Undertake financial management and procurement activities to maximise value including contributing to budgetary requirements and performance benchmarks;
  • Ensure Council's aged care facilities (buildings and grounds) are well maintained to meet quality and operational standards and regulations in conjunction with Facilities Management Department;
  • Implement and monitor procedures and standards to ensure compliance with Aged Care and Health legislation, accreditation, standards and guidelines;
  • Foster strong relationships with all key stakeholders, including management, staff, residents and their families to deliver high quality aged care and lifestyle services.

About you

The successful applicant will:

  • Be able to interpret Aged Care and health legislations, standards and guidelines to ensure quality compliance is met;
  • hold a relevant tertiary qualification in public health or business administration OR demonstrate the equivalent related experience and an in-depth knowledge of health-sector issues;
  • have demonstrated the successful implementation of contemporary culture and organisational change management principles and practices; and
  • have demonstrated experience in operational management, preferably in the health services sector.
