An exciting opportunity exists within our Whitsunday Water team for a Treatment Plant Operator.  Reporting to the Team Leader Treatment & Electrical we are looking for an experienced individual to carry out and provide quality service delivery and ensuring the complete reliability and safe operations of Council's Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants and their maintenance.


As the Treatment Plant Operator you will be responsible for

  • Ensure that the operation and maintenance procedures undertaken at the Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants are in accordance with those recommended in the Plant Operations Manual and in accordance with practices generally accepted by the Water & Waste Water Treatment industry
  • Identify and document items at the Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants requiring augmentation, upgrading and maintenance and provide comments in developing and updating standards associated with treatment activities
  • Ensure the operation and maintenance procedures for water, waste water and recycled water schemes are in accordance with the operations and maintenance manual and in accordance with practices generally accepted by the Water and Waste Water Treatment industry


With the necessary experience and qualifications you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high attention to detail and accuracy.  You will be an excellent team contributor and motivated to complete tasks on time.


Essential

  • C Class Manual Drivers Licence
  • Construction White Card
  • Possess a Certificate III in Water Industry Industry Treatment (water or waste water) or equivalent
