This two-year program will see you working in the outdoors, under the coaching and guidance of our subject matter experts. Our Water Industry Trainees learn and study to perform the responsibilities of a Construction & Maintenance team member, who support the delivery of water, recycled water and wastewater services.

Your responsibilities for this opportunity include: 

  • Repair and maintain water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipes, water tanks, sewer mains and treatment plants
  • Perform meter-reading and changeovers
  • Respond to emergency bursts
  • Operate pumps and valves for bulk water transfers
  • Undertake land management duties. This includes fencing and vegetation control
  • Maintain dam assets. This includes inspection and monitoring. The assets you will look after include reservoir dam walls and equipment.

  • Undertaking and successfully completing a Cert III in Water Industry Operations
