York, a true historic town with a population of 3,439 residents, is the first inland town in Western Australia. Situated approximately 97 kilometres by road east of Perth in the Avon Valley, its unique blend of farming and heritage creates a natural getaway and tourist venue.
Council currently seek the knowledge and experience of a new Chief Executive Officer. The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in leading major strategic planning reviews and implementations, be an inclusive team player with strategic networking skills as well as leading their team by example.
York is a community focused town so excellent communication and listening skills are paramount to this position to ensure community needs are met. Living and working in the community will allow the successful applicant to fully engage in community participation as well as being aware of and in a position to manage emerging issues.

Someone who can articulate a vision for York with evidence of an openness and eagerness for new innovative ideas while maintaining the integrity of the democratic process. The position is offered under a performance based contract of three to five years. An attractive remuneration package is offered and is to be set in accordance with the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal Band 3, negotiable up to $259,278 per annum. Salary and benefits are subject to negotiation and could include, but are not limited to; base salary, superannuation, private use of a motor vehicle.
