CBCity currently has a vacancy for an experienced Duty Manager within our growing team.


The primary role of the Duty Manager is to contribute to the safe, efficient and effective management and operations of Council’s Leisure and Aquatic Centres in accordance with Council’s policies, the requirements of the public, and industry standards.


We currently have 1 Full time vacancy at the Canterbury Aquatic Centre.


Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Promote teamwork and communication through the management of day-to-day and ongoing staffing levels, allocation of duties and breaks, etc. 
  • Supervise and train Leisure & Aquatic staff
  • Ensure consistent high levels of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, maintenance and security within the Centres and their surrounds
  • Deliver high levels of customer service to all customers, including effectively dealing with customer suggestions and/or complaints
  • Manage any emergency situations.


This position requires an individual who possesses: 

  • TAFE Statement of Attainment Pool Operations and Supervision (or equivalent from Royal Life Saving)
  • Current RLSSA Pool Lifeguard Award/Certificate
  • Current Apply First Aid Certificate
  • Experience in the effective operation of Leisure & Aquatic Centres and associated facilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pool plant and equipment use and maintenance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aquatic industry standards, especially regarding pool supervision, water quality and the safe handling and storage of chemicals.
