About the Position 

We are currently putting together a talent pool for people who would like to be considered for any potential upcoming Lifeguard vacancies at our various Aquatic Centres.

Pool Lifeguards assist with the supervision of aquatic centre patrons to ensure a safe and friendly recreational environment. They're also responsible for carrying out cleaning and maintenance requirements as required.

Pool Lifeguard positions are casual, and may be required to work up to 38 hours per week on a rotating roster. 

Key Deliverable of the position:

  • Assist with the supervision of the public in the use of aquatic facilities, ensuring that swimming pools and surrounds are under constant surveillance and that patrons conduct themselves in accordance with the conditions of entry.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to patrons and at the same time facilitate a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience.
  • Communicate with and educate pool patrons on water safety and appropriate behaviour.
  • Carry out operational procedures as required, including opening and closing of venue, application and removal of pool blankets, setting up for pool programs and events, maintenance and storage of equipment and reporting of any security or maintenance issues.
  • Undertake cleaning, maintenance, and other operational duties as required.

About You

You're passionate about water safety and enjoy providing a high level customer service and facilitating a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience.  You maintain a sound knowledge of current legislation, standards, policies and guidelines and ensure all your qualifications are current.

You can easily adapt to any changes that come our way and you're flexible and available to work non-standard hours (including weekends, early mornings and evenings).
