About the role:

 

Fantastic opportunity to provide specialised technical support with a focus on advanced wastewater treatment technologies, and advice to the operation of Groundwater Replenishment (GWR) and other Advanced Water Recycling Plants (AWRPs), in accordance with the Wastewater Quality Framework and regulatory documentation and requirements.

 

What the role will offer:

  • Provide scientific advice and instigate scientific investigations on the analysis of GWR data trends and anomalies, Hazard Risk and assist in the coordination of the hazard and risk assessment process.

  • Undertake daily/weekly review of Critical Control Point reports and GWR alerts and violations in Wastewater Quality Management System (WWQMS) and take follow-up actions as required.

  • Support the Department of Health (DoH), Wastewater Services (WWS) & Groundwater Replenishment (GWR) Health Advisory Committee meetings.

  • Develop position papers and provide high level process technical support for GWR as required.

  • Undertake administration of the GWR Recycled Water Quality Management Plan (RWQMP) and associated documentation.

  • Manage and administer the GWR change management process to support the GWR RWQMP.

  • Assist auditing of the Wastewater Quality Framework for GWR including use of the “Requality” auditing tool.

  • Lead/contribute to the implementation of advanced treatment, including groundwater replenishment, research and development initiatives.

Key skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualification or higher in relevant scientific or engineering field.

  • Substantial experience in advanced treatment process operations and troubleshooting.

  • Considerable experience in use of Quality management systems or related business systems, information management systems.

  • Relevant experience in stakeholder engagement and management. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced treatment processes and technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data and process issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical report writing and preparation of standards and procedures.
