Construction Maintenance Supervisor



The Company

We are a multi-functional NGO that is undergoing rapid internal growth. Our purpose is to make a significant contribution and impact to Australian communities, while working to change the lives of those in need.


The role is based in Perth CBD, with occasional travel to remote WA. In establishing this role, the first three months will require 2 weeks remote based, and 2 weeks in Perth. After which a minimum 1 week out of each month will be remote based.


The Role

  • Work closely with the Maintenance Planners and Scheduler to prioritise work requests and develop the weekly maintenance schedules.
  • Effectively supervise the employee relations and management of your work crew and ensure employees are trained and held accountable for their tasks
  • Monitor and drive strict adherence to maintenance work management principles (schedule loading, percent planned work, adherence to schedule, number of breakdowns etc) 
  • Provide direct leadership and guidance to the trades personnel, including personnel performance review and development. 
  • Ensure all servicing and maintenance work is performed in accordance with Company Management Systems, Statutory Obligations, Standard Work Procedures and Risk Assessments
  • Ensure timely evaluation and scoping of work requests prior to approval for the work management planning process
  • Participate in the weekly pre-planning, planning and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment and commitment of resources to the work schedule
  • Ensure safe execution of maintenance work as per the signed off schedule
  • Manage the planning and execution of unplanned work and the re-scheduling of the existing work orders as required
  • Review work execution performance with team members, identify gaps and take corrective action as necessary to improve performance
  • Manage and review events and ensure that escalation protocols are complied with
  • Provide input into the development of maintenance work strategies
  • Close completed work orders to ensure end to end process compliance


The Candidate

  • Trade relevant qualification within an equivalent industry and organisational experience
  • Experience in troubleshooting, and proven evidence of careful consideration of risk-factors in undertaking any task
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor and develop maintenance teams. 
  • Experience with computer based planned maintenance systems and procedures, including use of iPad’s and apps
  • Superior technical knowledge and skills, including a broad understanding of operational and maintenance requirements
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and a strong desire to foster a "team-oriented" approach to the achievement of tasks
  • High level oral and written English-language skills
  • Problem solving / issue resolution skill
  • Builder Licences and Electrical Nominee Licences desirable
  • Excellent organizational skills


About the Benefits

The Renumeratio package of circa $120,000 per annum includes a base salary of $100,000 plus salary sacrifice up to $15,900 per FBT year for rent, mortgage or living expenses to provide more net pay, 5 weeks annual leave, leave loading, mobile phone and superannuation.
