The Animal Care Facility (ACF) team are passionate about caring for all types of companion animals and proactively promote responsible pet ownership. The team assist with the caring and adoption of all animals that come into the facility. The ACF are expanding their current workforce team to provide more dedicated resources for animal welfare and exceptional customer service to the community.
About the role:
We are currently seeking a full time Animal Attendant. In this role you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with companion animal care and treatment
- Administering microchip implants to identify companion animals
- Maintaining and preparing records
- Educating the public on responsible pet ownership and requirements of the Companion Animals Act.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in animal care/welfare and/or extensive job related experience in a related field
- Well developed oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines without close supervision
- Ability to work flexible hours and on weekends
