The Animal Care Facility team is accountable for the welfare and responsible rehoming of companion animals housed at the facility and the promotion of responsible pet ownership.
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Senior Animal Attendant. In this role you will:
- Oversee the work allocation to the Animal Attendant team and provide assistance as required
- Ensure cleaning, animal health and care standards and exercise programs are being followed in line with regulations and Council procedures
- Liaise with the Team Leader – ACF in regards to operational matters, Animal Attendant duties and animal welfare concerns.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive job related experience in the area of animal care and behaviour assessment
- Experience in handling animals
- Well developed oral and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to lead a team in a positive and collaborative manner
- Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines without close supervision
- Ability to apply standards in a uniform manner.
