Box Office Attendant



A fantastic opportunity has become available for two (2) Box Office Attendants to join the multi-award winning precinct at the Mackay Entertainment Convention Centre (MECC) on a casual basis. 


The Mackay Entertainment Convention Centre (MECC) is a state-of-the art multi-million dollar precinct which provides unique settings for conferences, exhibitions, seminars and banquets. The facility consists of many versatile spaces including a 1090 seat theatre, 100 seat studio space, two plenary halls which when fully extended seats 1800 people, two dedicated foyers, bars, an experimental theatre space, breakout rooms and extensive front-house and backstage facilities. The centre also comfortably accommodates up to 1000 people banquet style. 


The purpose of a Box Office Attendant is to assist with the administrative procedures and day to day operations of the Box Office and administration functions of the MECC. In this role, you will sell tickets for all events, assist in poster preparation and mail outs and provide an excellent standard of client service. 


To be successful in this role, you must have a high level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to the general public in a calm, friendly and helpful manner. You must be able to work independently, exercise initiative, think laterally, self-motivate and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Although not essential, the ideal candidate will have previous experience in a client-orientated role, an office support role and/or experience in electronic box office sales.
