Energy Projects Officer
An exciting opportunity to join Whitehorse City Council and make a difference in this unique role of Energy Projects Officer. The role will manage the Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action’s Energy Performance Contract (EPC) program at Whitehorse City Council and Knox City Council.
The Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action (EAGA) is a formal collaboration of eight councils in Melbourne’s east, working together on regional programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and facilitate regional adaptation to the impacts of climate change.
EAGA’s Energy Performance Contract (EPC) program will deliver $3.8M worth of integrated energy efficiency building retrofits and significant energy efficiency savings within council facilities across multiple financial periods. The position will be responsible for all aspect of managing the EPC including, developing works specifications, through to completion of works, and measurement and verification.
To meet the requirements of this role you will require:
- Qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science/Management, Facilities Management or other relevant (similar) qualification (e.g. Certified Energy Efficiency Specialist or Leader under the Energy Efficiency Council scheme) or extensive industry related work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing multiple concurrent projects, including budget, project schedule and people management, in particular managing building energy efficiency retrofit projects through an Energy Performance Contract.
- The ability to effectively evaluate, assess and provide technical advice on energy efficiency recommendations and work specifications provided by contractors to ensure that new and existing systems work together for an effective overall outcome.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including the ability to inform, persuade, convince, negotiate and build a consensus between stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.
