About the role:
 

Support timely and effective internal and external regional stakeholder and community engagement in accordance with Water Corporation’s objectives.

 
What the role will offer:
  • Lead the engagement with community representatives and other nominated stakeholders in developing partnerships.

  • Provide water efficiency advice to stakeholders, key customers and community.

  • Provide stakeholder, customer and community insights to support corporate planning processes for partnerships, water efficiency, communication strategies and regional project delivery.

  • Develop and maintain stakeholder contacts with local media outlets, monitor local issues, and coordinate pro-active media releases and responses to local media enquiries.

  • Support stakeholder and community consultation and communications in the regions both for regional projects and for centrally coordinated and planned projects.

  • Plan and coordinate events and logistics, including internal and external stakeholder management.

Key skills and experience:
  • Tertiary level qualifications and / or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications, public relations, marketing or related discipline.

  • Considerable experience in community engagement, stakeholder and issues management including:

    • Customer relationship management.
    • Developing and implementing communication and community engagement strategies.

    • Production of communications materials.
    • Coordinating events.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to summarise complex issues into plain language for common use.

  • Strong knowledge and proven competence of business communications and stakeholder / community engagement.

  • Proven ability to effectively prioritise and work with competing timeframes.
