Policy, Planning and Investment Division of Transport and Main Roads is recruiting a Senior Advisor to join Governance, Freight and Partnerships for a period of 12 months. In the role of Senior Advisor, you will lead a range of initiatives and projects which aim to ensure a skilled, sustainable and supported transport and logistics workforce into the future.

Accountabilities include:

• Lead, plan and deliver workforce capability and planning projects to address skills and labour challenges across the transport and logistics industry, using a project management framework.

• Initiate, grow and maintain effective strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to promote and implement innovative workforce management solutions and business improvement.

• Prepare high quality internal and external communication materials and resources.

• Connect industry stakeholders to access relevant, timely information, allowing them to make informed workforce planning decisions.

• Draft correspondence, reports, submissions or briefing notes for consideration by the Director, Executive Director, General Manager, Deputy Director-General, Director-General and Minister.

• Build knowledge of the Vocational Education and Training system and the opportunities it offers to address skills and labour shortages within the industry.

• Maintain currency of industry changes and the potential impacts on workforce and project deliverables.

• Undertake capability development activities to perform efficiently in the role and assist other team members to develop new capabilities.
