Governance, Freight and Partnerships; Transport Strategy and Planning; Policy, Planning and Investment; Brisbane In the role of Senior Advisor (Freight Performance and Reporting) you will actively contribute towards the multi-modal freight performance and reporting function by participating in environmental scanning, data collection, intelligence gathering, trend analysis and forecasting activities. You will assist in the development and coordination of local, state and national freight strategies, policies and investment decisions that support an integrated, resilient and safe multi-modal freight system for Queensland's economy and communites. Accountabilities include:
• Ensure the timely coordination, development and implementation of freight system strategies and policies in response to government priorities and direction that enhance the efficiency, development and integration of the multi-modal freight system in Queensland. • Prepare advice and/or briefings to management on industry specific supply chain issues and challenges, and emerging national, state and local government freight planning, policy and related initiatives. • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with industry and other government agencies to create synergies for efficient collaboration, data intelligence and information gathering, analytics and reporting to achieve multi-modal freight outcomes. • Undertake research on multi-modal freight systems and broader supply chain activities to identify emerging freight and supply chain issues and trends. • Inform management of specific multi-modal freight and broader supply chain activities and/or projects that deliver on government priorities and departmental strategies. • Collaborate with key internal Transport and Main Road's (TMR) staff, external government agencies (local, state and federal) and industry to ensure the planning, development and operation of the multi-modal freight system in Queensland reflects and supports emerging freight needs, industry productivity and economic development. • Liaise with freight industry stakeholders to identify emerging freight and supply chain issues and trends. • Prepare and review executive-level briefing notes, ministerials, reports, submissions, business cases and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards. • Model quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
This position reports to the Manager (Freight Performance and Reporting).
