Development Compliance Officer



Are you interested in regulating development in the Georges River local government area? Use your regulation and enforcement experience to create a safe and secure environment.

  • Provide professional advice to the public and staff on matters concerning development compliance
  • Permanent full time - 70 hours per fortnight
  • Leaseback Vehicle or allowance option
  • Salary from $82,719.59 to be negotiated with the preferred applicant, plus 9.5% superannuation


Georges River Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Development Compliance Officer to join the Environment, Health and Regulatory Services team. The successful candidate will efficiently and effectively undertake inspections and investigations on behalf of Council, regarding health, building, planning and natural environment matters.

Key Skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in a building or planning field or recent previous experience investigating Local Government development and planning compliance matters or related field
  • A demonstrated understanding of the legislation, standards and policies relating to the investigation of development and planning compliance matters
  • Experience in the preparation of legal briefs in relation to development and planning compliance matters
  • Experience in undertaking investigations and evidence gathering
  • Sound conflict resolution and mediation skills.
