The Position:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, experienced and qualified candidate to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Diesel Mechanic. This position will report to the Depot Supervisor.
The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining the Shire’s plant, vehicles and machinery assets to a high standard in a safe, reliable and serviceable condition with a minimum of downtime. This includes working in the most efficient and effective manner as part of the Depot team, to ensure a productive mechanical and repair service is provided to the Shire.

The Person We Seek:
The preferred candidate will have a heavy vehicle diesel mechanical trade certificate and current unrestricted “HR” class driver’s licence.
The role of Diesel Mechanic will be responsible
- To maintain the Shire’s plant, vehicles and machinery assets to a high standard in a safe, reliable and serviceable condition with a minimum of downtime
- To work in the most efficient and effective manner as part of the Depot team. To ensure a productive mechanical and repair service is provided to the Shire
- To ensure that Council’s policies and procedures are adhered to providing the best possible service to Council and the ratepayers
Previous experience in a Diesel Mechanic role or similar position in a Local Government environment would be highly regarded
