Digital Communications Officer



About the role

We are looking for a proactive and strategic individual to join our team as our Digital Communications Officer. This position will be responsible for overseeing and implementing Council’s communication across all digital, web and multimedia platforms including Council’s websites, intranet and social media to ensure it is clear, consistent, easy to use and engaging.


Salary and Conditions

  • Permanent Full Time Position
  • Salary range $75,077 - $84,500 per annum
  • 9.5% Superannuation

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Tertiary Qualifications (Degree) in a relevant field such as Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience, including proven experience in developing and delivering digital, web and multimedia communication strategies/campaigns.
  • Excellent working understanding of current and emerging trends and technologies used in digital, web and multimedia communications and engagement.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to translate complex information into easily understood Plain English formats for a range of different target audiences.
  • The ability to work well under pressure on simultaneous tasks with tight deadlines.
  • High level of computer literacy and proven experience using different content management systems (CMS).
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and working with a range of stakeholders to deliver digital, web and multimedia communications.
  • Proven experience creating engaging content for a range of social media platforms.
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience developing and implementing online business models (such as online payments) for websites.
  • Experience or qualifications in programming.
