Maintenance Fitter, Isaac Region

An exciting opportunity exists for 2 permanent full time Maintenance Fitter to join Isaac Regional Council’s Water & Waste Directorate, based in the Isaac Region. Reporting to the Manager Operations & Maintenance, this position is responsible for the maintenance and construction of Council Assets.
The successful candidate will have relevant trade qualifications and licencing for a trade. This position requires a high level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. Demonstrated experience in the ability to schedule maintenance and servicing of all mechanical equipment within the Water & Waste treatment plants. Candidates must have the flexibility to travel and work across the Isaac Region with successful candidate being required to work away from home accommodation will be supplied. Candidates must have up to date Hepatitis vaccinations or be willing to obtain.
General Duties:
- Assisting to develop a preventative maintenance and scheduling plan
- Preventative maintenance tasks
- Repairs to plant equipment
- Carrying out corrective, breakdown maintenance when required
- Inspection, maintain and troubleshooting, ensuring maximum effective use of plant and equipment
- Recording of all information from job cards into Council’s records systems
For this position we offer:
- Above award wages
- Nominally 76 hours per fortnight as per roster (Monday to Thursday)
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading pro-rata
- 12% super (in accordance with policy)
