The Town of Port Hedland is currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead and develop our facilities team to enhance the management, utilisation and activation of our leisure assets. A passion for the leisure and fitness industry is essential to the role, having carriage of Port Hedland’s sport and recreation, youth, and community facilities.
The Town’s leisure facilities have just experience a massive change from a managed service to in house delivery under the Port Hedland Leisure brand. As the Manager Facilities you will develop, coordinate and implement a management plan for the leisure facilities to ensure optimum utilisation of the Wanangkura Stadium, South Hedland Aquatic Centre, Gratwick Aquatic Centre, Marquee Park Splash and Play, JD Hardie Youth Zone, sport and leisure facilities as well as the Town’s active open spaces and pavilions.
The role will have carriage of a number of important strategic projects including the new fit outs for both the Town gyms as well as the re-opening of the Gratwick Aquatic Centre following a major upgrade.
Experienced leisure facility managers, recreation program managers and fitness and wellbeing professionals are encouraged to apply. This position will be engaged under an initial 3 year contract, with an option to extend at the agreement of both parties.
Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as hold:
- Formal qualifications in a relevant field (Business, Leisure or Facility Management)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Current ‘C’ class drivers licence
- Current Working with Children Card
- Current National Police Clearance
