Bring your talents to the Central Queensland coast and partner with an award winning Local Government as a Financial Accounting Coordinator in a full-time permanent capacity. In this role you will be largely responsible for leading the financial accounting team in delivering Council’s strategic financial objectives.

Your average workday will be kept busy by:
- Leading and undertaking the preparation of financial statements for Mackay Regional Council and associated controlled entities;
- Coordinating audit of accounts and resolving queries raised by auditors;
- Scoping, designing and producing reports for business programs;
- Contributing to the development and monitoring of the budget;
- Providing technical advice and support in relation to Opex, Capex and Asset management;
- Providing detailed financial analysis and review of financial data and information;
- Providing specialist financial advice on policy matters as well as development and review of policies;
- Developing, documenting and maintaining financial systems, processes and reports in line with best practice;
- Providing technical advice and review in relation to taxation and statutory obligations;
- Undertaking complex detailed financial investigations or reviews as requested; and
- Leading, inspiring and resource management, across a team of 4 direct reports.
