About You
- You are an experienced fleet practitioner with a good understanding of plant procurement
- You are passionate about delivery for internal customers and meeting their needs
- You have high level skills in MS Office, particularly Excel with a flair for crunching numbers and analysing data
- You are a strategic thinker who can see the big picture but yet also get the details right
- You possess a 'can do' attitude and model councils behaviours and values
- You possess a 'safety first' attitude in everything that you do and ensure this is reflected in the plant procured
The primary purpose of the role is to:
- Draft the annual plant/vehicle replacement budget/program in conjunction with the finance team and procure all plant/vehicles each financial year in accordance with the program.
- Prepare detailed assessment reports on plant suitability, financial assessment options, whole of life costing analysis including industry best-practice considerations with clear recommendations based on sound fleet management principles
- Develop, maintain and review (monthly) a rolling 10 year plant and fleet replacement program in accordance with Council's established replacement policies and advocate for the full funding of each years replacement program
- Prepare business cases, tenders, specifications and reports as required to procure/hire or lease fleet/plant and equipment with a focus on service delivery for internal users, while ensuring value for money for Council.
- Analyse plant utilisation data on a monthly basis and report on actions to maximise utilisation, review and adjust hire rates as required to ensure profitability of plant is maximised.
We are seeking someone who has:
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Commerce or similar with a proven track record of delivering outcomes in fleet management
- Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role of strategic fleet management and procurement
- Current Class C Driver Licence
- Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
- Demonstrated conduct aligned with Council's corporate behaviours supporting our values
- Competent numeracy and literacy skills to enable understanding and application of safety and work related procedures
- Experience in writing strategies and plans, contract management, tender and specification writing and evaluation
- High Level of computer literacy and a demonstrated ability to use MS Office including Word, Outlook and particularly Excel
NOTE: As the activities of this position could involve exposure to Hepatitis A and B or Q Fever, the employee will be vaccinated against these hazards or required to provide proof of immunity against these diseases.
Full time: 19 day month
Salary: Range from $79,222 to $95,602 pa + 9.5% super (salary will be dependent on skills and experience)
