The opportunity
Council are seeking to recruit an Infrastructure Design Officer to work within the Strategic and Assets Planning group, to investigate, survey and design new projects, issues and/or existing assets.
To be successful in this position, you should possess an Associate Diploma in Engineering with Design or Drafting major or equivalent; a minimum of two years relevant experience in Local Government or similar industry background; the ability to prepare computerised designs for engineering projects using modern software packages (12D, Autocad and Drains software); and the ability to capture, organise and process survey information from the field to permit the design of civil works.

Key accountabilities
The tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Undertaking required survey work for proposed civil infrastructure and building works, together with set-out survey to enable construction
- Supervising and directing assistants while carrying out survey work
- Designing civil infrastructure and building works
- Preparation of detailed construction plans for civil infrastructure and building works
- Assisting in the preparation of tender/contract documentation, together with tender assessments, for outsources design/survey activities
