Maribyrnong City Council is undergoing significant change in population growth, redevelopment, and a transitioning economy is leading to an influx of new residents, businesses and opportunities. Maribyrnong is becoming a sought after residential area and a destination for foodies.


Our Youth Services team are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and suitably qualified Youth Participation and Advocacy Officer, who is passionate about working alongside young people to assist in raising voices, expanding choices and creating change across the City of Maribyrnong. This new, diverse role, will develop links within the relevant systems and work to build capacity for young people to participate in, connect with and contribute to the community.


Our ideal candidate will have experience working with young people within the context of youth participation, and have demonstrated experience in methods of consultation and engagement, with both young people and the wider community. You will demonstrate initiative and leadership when working with young people, and be familiar with the principles of co-design.
