Senior Development Assessment Officer (2 positions)
- Permanent, Full – Time Position, 70 hours per fortnight

The Northern Beaches Council is situated on the beautiful coastline extending from Manly to Palm Beach and is an exciting, diverse and challenging place to work, live and play. We are looking for two experienced and talented professionals to join our team as Senior Development Assessment Officers (known as a Principal Planner in our structure), who will help us drive success in the Development Assessments section.

The position is responsible for:
- Managing the assessment of complex development applications
- Preparing detailed reports for the Local Planning Panel and Sydney North Planning Panel
- Representing Council in Land and Environment Court
- Supporting the role of Manager Development Assessment
- Assisting in mentoring and coaching younger planners
The successful person will use high level communication, efficient handling and problem solving skills to provide effective, timely and quality processing of applications. The use of experience and expertise to achieve good planning outcomes, development of other planners and delivering a positive customer experience are fundamental to success in this senior position.
