Trainee Water Services Operator (Burnie)

The Opportunity

You will complete Certificate III in Water Industry Operations while undertaking on the job training in all aspects of water and sewer operations, including:

  • Fixing water main breaks 
  • Cleaning and clearing sewer mains and blockages.
  • Undertaking preventative maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Checking, monitoring and observing plant and equipment.
  • Taking water and sewerage samples.

This is a 3 year position that attracts traineeship wages. You will be required to fill in on the West Coast on a 2 in 6 week rotating roster (accommodation will be provided).

We are looking for individuals with the following skills and attributes:

  • Satisfactory completion of Year 10.
  • Current C class manual driver’s licence.
  • Interest in and willingness to learn about the water industry.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to work in all kinds of weather.
